Now that the logo is ready I’ve created some simple brand guidelines. These help me have a better idea of how I want things to look like when designing for Picsea. As well as being a step towards getting to know this brand’s personality and how it will interact with it’s customers and employees.

Domain. Check.


It is 2016. In the US people have been coming up with business names for over 2 centuries and buying domains to match those names for more than 20 years.

It isn’t surprising, that after doing your research and narrowing down a name for your business that isn’t already taken, the chances of being able to match it with a .com are slim. Unless you come up with a fully made up name. You know, like Kodak or Xerox … words that seem to have come straight from outer space.

We have a logo.


We do! It’s pretty simple. But after trying a few options this one really spoke to me and what I want to communicate.

Being a graphic designer comes handy when starting up. There are graphic designers with more talent than me for sure. And it isn’t easy to slow down and design when there are so many other things to think about in terms of starting a business.
